Back Bay Church COVID-19 Statement
The last several weeks have been trying for many of you. We have been praying for your physical and spiritual health. For a time, we decided not to gather on Sundays. This was based on a love for each other and our neighbors. We took into consideration the recommendations of our governing authorities and medical officials. As we have seen new case numbers decline in coastal Mississippi, Governor Tate Reeves has issued executive orders to slowly reopen businesses and lessen the restrictions on gatherings and occupancy levels. In a unified spirit, after prayer and much discussion, we have decided to begin publicly reopening our Sunday Worship gathering for Back Bay Church.
Key aspects of our reopening
Social distancing requested
Social distanced seating
No Children’s Group Bible Study (We hope to start this back soon)
No hospitality refreshments
Sunday Worship Service
Staggered Arrival Times
8:00-8:30 am - Band and Tech Team
9:25-9:40 am - Senior adults and moderate risk
9:40-9:55 am - All others
Seating
We will have clusters of chairs scattered throughout the room for you and your family. These clusters will be arranged so that individuals and families can sit 6 feet apart.
Arrival Procedure
The doors will be propped open.
Give people room at the main doors if you arrive at the same time.
Proceed directly to a cluster of open seats that fits you and/or your family
If you need more chairs, ask one of our team members and we'll be happy serve you.
Welcoming everyone
We will have a time during the service when we will welcome each other in a socially distant manner. This should be fun!
Communion
We will have individually wrapped communion cups and wafers on tables in four separate places in the gym. You'll be guided to the table nearest you when we take communion.
Staying Home
Under certain circumstances, we recommend you stay home and watch the live stream (we trust you to exercise wise judgment):
If you are uncomfortable being in the same building with a few dozen people.
If you are high risk and choose not to get out in public.
If you, or members of your family, will have difficulty practicing social distancing.
Small groups
Talk to your small group and if they are comfortable gathering in person again then proceed with grace. Have an agreement about what everyone is comfortable with.
We love you all and want to see you face to face. This is the first step to that goal. Thank you for your anticipated grace and patience.
If you have any questions please call Pastor Adam at (662)312-7161 or by email adam@backbaychurch.com.
